The Combat Control Foundation proudly presents the 2021 SRA Mark Forester Scholarship awardees. This year, each recipient will be awarded a $2,500.00 scholarship to continue their studies.
Nursing
I will be continuing my studies at the University of West Florida as a sophomore. I plan to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing by the end of my four years. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity. The Mark Forester Scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies and relieve the financial pressure.
Biology
I'm a recent high school graduate now attending Fayetteville Technical Community College to finish my Associate in Science degree, which I started working on my junior year. Some of the things I enjoy doing are hiking, volunteering at the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, and playing games with friends. I have an appreciation for the sciences, particularly astronomy and biology. I will be putting the scholarship money towards purchasing books, as they can certainly be costly. I aspire to complete my associate degree and hopefully transfer to North Carolina State University to major in biology. I am incredibly thankful to everyone who makes this scholarship possible today, Senior Airman Mark Forester, those who came before him, and those who followed in his footsteps serving our great country. I would also like to thank my father, Greg Pittman, for his service in the USAF.
Teacher / Educator
With this scholarship, I plan on continuing my degree at the University of West Florida. I am set to graduate in two and a half years with an Elementary Education Bachelor’s degree with a focus on ESE. After graduation I would like to immediately join the workforce as a teacher, but hope to continue my education with a Master’s degree as well.
Mechanical Engineering
I'm attending Purdue University for Mechanical Engineering. I am taking part in Air Force ROTC and so hope to become a pilot in the future. I plan to use this scholarship to help pay for my classes this fall before my ROTC scholarship starts.
